Geared towards increasing our market share in the area , this investment encompasses the introduction of new added value processes , a welfare center for employees , and capacity for further growth .”
Due to its deep involvement in the energy sector , Howco has developed a keen interest in power generation from sustainable sources . In line with that , the company has developed an ambitious Net Zero strategy which will see it achieve carbon neutral status by 2050 . Last spring , Howco made a major stride towards this goal by making a significant investment in a solar photovoltaic energy system for its Sheffield and Cumbernauld sites . Our fully integrated melt-shop ( EAF , LD , VD , VOD ), three forging presses ( up to 80 / 100MN ), heat-treatment ( calibrated acc . API 6A Annex M ), machining ( lathe turning , boring , milling , saw-cutting ), testing in our ISO 17025 accredited lab , allow us to produce :
• Open-die forgings , pre-machined from a forging weight of up to 110 metric tons
• Forged bars , with machined finished dimension of Ø 180mm and larger
• Round corner square billets from 60x60mm to 200x200mm
• Closed-die forgings from 2kgs up to 220kgs
