release about the undertaking.“ When reconductoring, crews typically work on live lines carrying 12,470 volts, compared to just 120 volts in a home. This project required precise coordination to ensure everything was done safely and efficiently.
“ We appreciate our members’ patience and understanding as we continue making essential improvements to our system. These upgrades are critical to keeping the power flowing reliably to homes and businesses throughout the area.”
This project illustrates the vital contribution made by NNEC’ s lineworkers, and the business recognized the role they play on Lineworker Appreciation Day, also in March 2025. This gave NNEC the opportunity to express its deep gratitude for the men and women who dedicate their lives to ensuring its members have safe, reliable electricity. Indeed, NNCE describes lineworkers as‘ the backbone of the cooperative’. As noted on its website:‘ The impact of their work extends far beyond just keeping the power flowing. Electricity is essential to our daily lives, from keeping homes warm in winter to powering life-saving medical equipment. Businesses depend on electricity to operate, students need it for learning, and families rely on it for comfort and security. Without the hard work and expertise of our lineworkers, our way of life would look very different.’
Ultimately, NNEC’ s mission is to provide reliable, sustainable, and affordable energy solutions. As a member-owned, communitydriven organization, it remains dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and keeping power flowing. Thanks to the hard work and expertise of everyone at NNEC, its community can enjoy a bright future. ■
